Who can ever think what this beautiful lady can do?


Blessed with so many talents, she
played as the ever famous Geum Jandi, the lady love of Goo Joon Pyo in the famed drama series, Boys Over Flowers. She was also the director of the short film, The Cheerful Caretaker. To add more spice to her resume, she wrote a book, Tango. Way before the drama, Boys Over Flowers, she has already won the New Actress Award when she played as the lead actress of the successful drama, Pure Heart. She was also the singer of Saranga, Pure Heart's Title Song.

The Actress 


Goo Hye Sun (also known as Koo Hye Sun) is under the Talent Agency: YG Entertainment.

It was noted that she first garnered fame and respect from the drama, Pure in Heart (2006) where she portrayed the role of a young , brave-hearted, clever village girl from Yanbian, China who goes to
Korea to get married, but her husband-to-be died in a terrible car accident when she was about to marry him. This 167-episode drama talks about how she managed to pass through all the sufferings and eventually find true love. Hye Sun received a New Actress Award from KBS Acting Awards on this drama.

In 2007, She was casted in the South Korean historical drama series, The King and I. Hye Sun was awarded with "Rookies of the Year/New Star Award" on the SBS Acting Awards from this drama.


In 2009, her biggest break came when she was chosen to play the role of Geum Jandi which is one of the lead characters in the drama -
Boys Over Flowers. This was my first time to see her act and she has done a great job. She has received a number of recognitions from this drama. These includes Best Asian Female Star from the 6th Yahoo! Asia Buzz Awards; Best Female Star from Andre Kim Best Star Awards; Nominated for Best Drama Performance by an Actress in the 14th Asian Television Awards.

She is also considered an Ullzang for her white, radiant, and milky skin. Up until now, she is South Korea's top and bankable actresses showing her versatility and grace.

7th Asiana International Short Film Festival Trailer 



The video shows Goo Hye Sun's second stab at directing with the short trailer for the 7th Asiana International Short Film Festival. It was released on October 20, 2009.This AISFF trailer will be shown before each screening at the festival, which will take place from November 5 through 10.

The Writer 

Tango, Goo Hye Sun's first novel, was published on April 1, 2009 and has already been receiving praises from its readers. Over 30,000 copies of the book was sold in its first week and remained as a best seller in many bookstores.

Tango is a story of a girl in her twenties who deals with love and separation. The book is garnering more attention for its illustrations which Goo Hye Sun personally drew and are half of which are being displayed on G-market.

The Artist 

Following the success of Tango (novel), Hye Sun's artworks that can also be found in the book were put on exhibit. Large poster prints are available in G-Market.

She has also done the illustrations for Gummy's fourth album. (shown at the right side)

The Singer 

Singing was her first passion but her management asked her to focus on acting first before pursuing her singing career. In 2006, she got the chance to sing the title song of Pure Heart, Saranga.

After garnering much popularity in playing the role of Jandi in
Boys Over Flowers, Hye Sun received many offers.
